One
of my Team Lead who used to report to me gives me a call today and asked
me to share the recipe of Gajar ka Halwa, which I had prepared during
one of the pot luck sessions for the team..Wow it feels nice that some
one still remembers & acknowledges
.I guess this was just the motivation I needed to post this recipe
without any further delay, so here it is for all my friends....
Gajar Halwa
Preparation Time: 15-20 mins
Cooking Time: 30-40 mins
Ingredients
4-5 cups milk(depends on the quantity..put milk cup by cup and check)
3/4th tin condensed milk(Milkmaid) (depends on the quantity)
750 to 1 kg gms grated carrot
1 to 2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp ghee
50 gms chopped mixed nuts (badam,pista,kaju)
Method
1.Peel and grate carrots (Red carrots only).
2.Add the grated carrots to the milk in a deep pan or kadai and bring to boil.
3.Cook on a slow flame, while stirring occasionally, till milk dries up.
4.Add the condensed milk(Milkmaid) and sugar, mix well and cook on a slow flame till the mixture becomes dry, stirring occasionally.
5.Add the ghee, mix well and cook for another 10 minutes.
6.At the end after preparation garnish with nuts, raisins and serve hot.
This halwa tastes awesome when served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
